Best Song: U Can't Touch This/Ice Ice Baby
Hahahahahahahahaha…

Personally, I don't review compilations or "greatest hits" collections. I tend to stay away from them, since they're usually 100% solid works. It'd be sad if it was a "best of" and it was "shaky" or filled with "filler." But… I got this CD for less than five dollars in the bargain bin.

Why did I buy it? MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice are reputed artists with well-known stories and even better known hits. Of course, I'm laughing at the stupidity of my decision as much as you are, but then again, I'm not one of the people that bought these artists' albums for full price.

First up, the first 5 songs are from MC Hammer. "U Can't Touch This" is present in all its hokey goodness. "Addams Groove" and "2 Legit 2 Quit" are hear in all their danceable fun. "Pray" is hokey beyond entertainment, so a point off for that. "Have You Seen Her" isn't memorable at all. Point off for that.

On the Ice side, of course, his lone hit "Ice Ice Baby" HAS to be here, so it is. "Dancin'" and "Cool As Ice (Everybody Get Loose)" are guilty pleasures, too. But "I Love You" is an absolutely horrible love song taken from his absolutely horrible (or so I'd assume. It's Vanilla Ice, after all) live album. "Play That Funky Music" is also taken from that live album, and it just lacks anything memorable. Points off for those two.

I didn't make many jokes in this review because the artists in question are all the jokes you need for this, right? If the mention of MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice on the same CD doesn't get you chuckling, the fact that it's a "BEST OF" from BOTH of them combined couldn't get more than a 6… That, my friends, is funny sad.
