And people say there isn't enough rap on this site…

Outkast… made it big in 2000 and 2001 with his like "Ms. Jackson" and "B.O.B." They found their niche with the perfect blend of soul, hip-hop and rap. And they broke through with this album: Stankonia.

So, how does Stankonia add up? Pretty damned well. Actually, incredibly well. I can't think of another album with this many tracks (24) that is this consistent. The singles, of course, are great, but none of the songs are bad. I've got to give Outkast credit for making an album of this caliber. Plenty of artists who have this many guests on their tracks overdo them… Not here. Most albums with this many tracks have filler… Not here.

The album's not perfect, though. The little "interludes" aren't really anything special. They're kind of funny, but not THAT funny… I don't care for any of them, really. But the songs are written, produced and performed well enough to make up for them. Each and every one of them. There isn't anything here that makes me cringe, and there are plenty of great tracks.

There are plenty of moods presented here, too. You've got the more serious "Ms. Jackson" and "Xplosion" the more upbeat, almost whimsical "We Luv Deez Hoez," and the brag-y "So Fresh So Clean" are great examples, plus the other songs that make up the album.

In the end, (yeah, I know, short review, but I can't do a song-by-song review on something this long) Stankonia is a classic album from one of the best mainstream rap groups. And if it's not a classic, it's at least proof that they are far and above many of the other rappers present in the current mainstream scene.
