Best song: Inhale
Stone Sour is set to release there highly anticipated album at the end of the month, but being the cheap bastard I am, I was able to get download the advanced copy of the album. Now, if you have been in a hole for the past couple of months, Stone Sour features Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root. Both are unmasked in the group, which left hardcore 'Knot fans unhappy.
The first single from the album is "Get Inside" and when you hear it, you'd think "How the hell is this different from Slipknot?” Yes, I thought the same when I first herd "Get Inside", but after that track everything is different. You don't have the heavy double bass that you'd normally find on a Slipknot album or Corey Taylor’s loud screaming voice. But instead, you find the softer side of Corey, which can be herd on the second single from the album "Bother', and my favorite track "Inhale".
But don't get me wrong; Stone Sour also has a heavy side too, which can be herd on the great tracks "Tumult" "Idle Hands" and "Cold Reader". And to close out to album, we get to hear Corey Taylor on a spoken word poem. A very angry poem, I might add.
This is a great CD for all Slipknot fans and non-Slipknot alike. Each song has a different sound, which makes this album a great buy. The CD is set to be release on August 27th, so make sure you pick it up, as its an excellent debut from Stone Sour.
